Where did the 25/26 intake end up?

Track every youth intake you've marked, newest first, and see where each of its players has got to: promoted, out on loan, still in the youth squads, or gone. It's all about whether your prospects make the first team.

The Intakes view: every intake down the left, each with a bar of where its players are now, and the one you pick counted up. Not one of the 25/26 intake has made the first team yet.

Potential then and now

One row a player, the first team first and those who have left last: where he is now, the stars he arrived with against his stars now, and his first-team football so far.

  • Where now: the squad your last capture found him in, or on loan, or gone.
  • Potential then → now: Football Manager's stars when he was first captured, and at your latest capture.
  • First minutes: the capture his first first-team minutes appeared in, as close to a debut as the app can get.
  • First-team apps and minutes: first-team football only. Minutes he brought up from a youth squad are taken off.

Football Manager draws its stars against the squad being viewed, so a player moved up to the first team can lose stars without getting any worse. Players who have left stay in their intake, dimmed, with when they left.

Every intake, side by side

All intakes sets every intake against its own seasons: its 1st, its 2nd, and so on. That lines your intakes up by how long they've been at the club rather than by the calendar, so you can see whether they're getting better, and whether any of them make the first team.

Each cell is a bar of where that intake was at the end of that season. It's read on the season's last day, so a player promoted in April counts as first team here.

Season by season

Pick an intake and switch from Players to Season by season: a row a season, newest first, and a column a player. Each cell is where he spent most of that season, so you can follow the whole intake moving up, out on loan, or on.

A season's colour is where he spent most of it, counted in days, not where he finished it. A player promoted in April still shows that season in his youth squad, because he spent most of it there.

You mark the intake

Squad Vision never guesses who came through your academy, because Football Manager doesn't say. When a capture of a youth squad finds players new to the save, it asks whether they're that season's intake, with everyone ticked. Untick anyone who isn't, then mark the rest. You can also right-click any player, or put a mistake right in Setup.

The question stays quiet for your first team's new players, who are signings, and on a squad's first capture, whose players are the academy the club already had. Academy players from before your save began can be marked by hand into any season.

Good to know

An intake is named by the season it arrived in, on your team's calendar. In a league that starts in August, players who arrive in March 2026 are the 25/26 intake.

An intake belongs to the player, not his squad. He keeps it through promotions, loans and a sale, and a youth product sold on stays in his intake.

Now means your last capture, and First seen is the capture that found them, so capture your youth squads soon after intake day.
